Great Finnish Yarn Club - Suuri Suomalainen Neulekerho

Kerho oli myynnissä 18.8. 2013 asti. The club enrolment was open until 18 August 2013.

Welcome to Villavyyhti's blog, all international guests! We have info in English on the blog here as our webshop yet functions only in Finnish. Please do join us in Ravelry too, in the Villavyyhti group. Most of the babble might be in Finnish but please don't let it stop you as we all do speak English.

We are launching a new round of our Great Finnish Yarn Club with four internationally distiguished designers and four wonderfully talented Finnish indie dyers. They have been coupled most successfully and they are in the middle of creating you some really unique club projects.

The club will run from September to December. You will receive four packets each containing approx. 100 grams of yarn and a yet unpublished pattern for the yarn. The patterns will be in English language (or Finnish if you prefer). The exact schedule for the club is:

(All links take you to Ravelry.)

  1. Shipment will include yarn by Hopeasäie and pattern by Susanna IC. It will be sent by 29 September.
  2. Shipment will have a skein of Lanitium ex Machina yarn and a pattern by Yarnissima. It will post by 18 October.
  3. Shipment will consist of Handu yarn and a Veera Välimäki pattern. It will be sent at latest on 12 November.
  4. Shipment will include yarn by Knitlob's Lair and a pattern by Åsa Tricosa. We will send it to you by 4 December.
In the club you can choose from three colour themes: "Dark November Nights", "Harvest Time", and "Misty Autumn Mornings". All dyers will personally interpret each colour theme.

The price of the club for EU residents is 134 € (incl. 24 % VAT) and 108.06 € for non-EU residents. Please choose the appropriate PayPal button from below. PayPal will add shipping costs to your order, 25.60 € within Europe and 38 € for the rest of the world. All packets will ship priority.

  1. Hi there, Is there any chance that The Misty Mornings or the Dark November nights might work with a cool winterish colour type?

    Thanks and cheers.

  2. Hi Judith, I think those two options definitely lean towards cooler shades. However, the dyers have the liberty to interpret the themes freely so I cannot give you any guarantee of that. For a dark-haired person the Dark November Nights should be a safe choice. If you are a blonde, Misty Mornings might be a better option.

  3. I'm a bright colour person, don't like sludgy colours, I'm leaning towards northern nights, would you think this the correct one for me
    Many thanks

    1. Hi Catherine, I guess some of the brightest colours in this round might be in Harvest Time, but if you prefer cold shades to warm ones, then Dark November Nights is probably better. And Harvest Time will most definitely have some muted colours too, so probably it's safer with Dark November Nights anyway!

  5. Hi I tried to buy a membership for EU but the Paypal amount was €154 instead of the 108. Can you advise? I didn't go ahead and make the purchase.

  6. I missed out on membership--a non EU potential from the US. Is there any chance I might still pay via paypal? Thanks Dorothy from Salem, OR USA dranderson@hushmail.com
